Arden's One Year Portraits

I realized that I never included any pictures from Arden's portrait session on here. Shame on me because they turned out beautiful. I had some done in her petticoat skirt (not a tutu as I have called it) and some in her Easter dress. I was very pleased with them, hard not to love them with such a beautiful subject! I didn't want to have them done when she had just turned 1 because she wasn't walking yet and I just like to wait until things are bright and blooming outside, she was actually 17 months old when we took these back in the spring.

Catch Up Day

I realize I have so many things that I have not blogged about and today has been voted "Blog Catch up Day" at the James house.  Simply because Cash and Arden went to the farm yesterday for a visit.  I find it hard to sit down and blog when they are home because they refuse to leave me along for more than 3 minutes if they see me sitting at the computer.  When they nap or when they are at preschool I have this "guilt" within me that refuses to allow my own self to sit for more than 3 minutes at the computer.  All mothers know what I am talking about, I should be cooking, cleaning, washing, folding etc etc etc.... anything but sitting on my behind on the computer!! Not today, today I am allowing myself to catch up on my blog because this is how I preserve my family memories.  I am not sure if I will make this one very long blog or break them up by events.  I will see which way the wind blows as I get started.

More Cashism

So my little man is full of surprises and you never know what is going to come out of his mouth! Here are two of his most recent "episodes".

We went to church with John last weekend for Powell's Grove's 70th anniversary!  It was a great service and when it was almost over Cash looked at me and said "we need to get on up out of here cause I'm hungry"!!  WHAT!!!  LOL!!!  Thank goodness there was PLENTY of food afterwards!!  In fact of all my years of "5th Sunday" eatings in country churches, that was the most food I have ever seen! EVER and it was SOOO  good!! :D

One afternoon last week I was baking a cake for Master P's birthday and Cash asked me to come outside to play baseball with  him.  I explained that I couldn't and why I couldn't.  Cash looked at me and said "Mama if you don't come outside and play baseball with me, I'm gonna tell Jesus to put me back in your tummy"!  Well okay then!!!!  I have no idea where he comes up with this stuff but he keeps me cracking up! :D

Funnies

Ella came a couple of weeks ago and stayed with us for a couple of nights.  It is always fun and exhausting seeing them all interacting together.  One of the days we were all in the car and Ella was crying, sweet little Arden kept asking her over and over "what happened Ella", she must have asked her a dozen times and Ella just kept crying until finally Arden had enough and she took her paci out of her mouth and said "HUSH IT ELLA"!! hahahahahahaha.....  I could not stop laughing at my bossy little princess and eventually Ella did hush it! :D

Ella, Arden and Cash playing in the back of the truck!

This is the "why me Lord" look!!
The next few pictures are of Cash and Ella in the back yard.  I walked outside to find them with the hose pipe turned on and they were soaked from head to toe!!  Of course I got the camera out, it was to cute not to make a memory!! They loved every minute of it and since it was 100 degrees outside STILL I thought it was very appropriate behavior! :D

Does this look fun or what?

And of course I couldn't resist this sweet picture!! I can't wait to break it out when they are teenagers!

Spending the Day with my baby girl

Cash and Papa were ready for some "farm time" so Cash has been gone since Sunday.  That means lots of time with just me and Baby Arden!! So sweet and so wild!! I am starting to remember the "terrible two's"! :D  She is very independent, but very girly.  We are having a blast playing with baby dolls, saying our ABC's, counting to 10, learning some colors and wrecking the house.  She pulled a bunch of bowls out earlier and said "mess mama"!! :D  I am so thankful for some one on one time with that sweet busy little girl! :D

Random Funnies

I still have not blogged about our beach trips but I don't want to forget about some funny things that have happened the last few days.

My sweet precious little baby girl has activated! She is WILD and busy and into EVERYTHING!! :~) She is curious, nosy, loud, determined and sweet as pie!! She lets her opinon be known and she loves shoes.  I am not a fan of shoes on in the house, that's the first thing to go when I walk in but she asked me all day "shoes on mommy"! :D She wanted her sandals on.  Today River started barking real loud and Arden yelled even louder "HUSH IT RIVER"! hmmmm wonder where she has heard that before.

Tonight when I was rocking her to sleep she kept saying "sing mama sing mama" so I did a "set" of songs and every time I finished one she would lean up and clap and say "yah mama"! Sweet girl has no clue her mama can not sing but she still loves me.

So today was a VERY RARE lazy day at the James house.  I never sit still but I didn't feel great so I spent the entire day playing "farmer" with Cash.  Cash ADORES my daddy which of course I do to so this makes me a happy girl.  We just spent a few days on the farm and Cash doesn't care how hot it is, he will ride around in 105 degrees in a farm truck with no ac and smile from ear to ear.  He LOVES it!!  When he isn't on the farm he is playing farm and what this means is that EVERY single dining room chair AND barstool are turned on the backsides and they become "fences" and "tractors" sometimes they get "stuck in the mud" and we have to get another "tractor" aka dining room chair to get them unstuck.  He ties ropes, dog leashes, anything he can get his hands on and makes fences.  All the couch pillows and at least half of the bed pillows become sacks of feed and corn.  The rug becomes the pond and we play and play and play and..........  Finally at one point today I told Cash that I needed to fold some clothes but he could keep playing and I would be back to play with him shortly.  He very matter of factly let me know that he was a farmer and he was not playing he was working!

So, before I continue I must throw in an advisory........Patrick and I do not teach our children to be prejudice.  We try to teach them to love people for what is on the inside and of course Cash and Arden are to young to understand that but we still try.  Something funny happened while we were playing today and it was very random and I still don't know where he came up with this.  What I do know is that he has never heard me or his daddy say this but it did turn out comical.  We were watching "Little House on the Prarie" or "little house on the perry" as Cash calls it, this is his favorite show! A commercial came on and there was a little black girl and Cash said "um Mama I don't think I like black people, I like white people" I told Cash that wasn't nice and that Jesus made all people and He wants us to love everyone.  Cash can get very animated when he talks and today was no exception when he said "ooooh ok well Mama, I need to ask you a question," while moving his eyebrows up and down and talking with his hands he said "is my daddy black or white"?   WHATTTTTTT!!!!!????  I could barely stop laughing long enough to tell him his daddy was white!!! Then he said "am i cracking you up Mama"?  Well YES you are son!  Where did that come from! All i know is that I have laughed every time I have thought about it.  I wonder why he was confused about that! Sorry Patrick! :D  Never a dull moment!

Cashism's

We are heading home from Orange Beach as I type and I was just reminded of something funny Cash said a while back! I didn't want to forget again so I decided to go ahead and blog it! Ella came and stayed the day with us a couple of weeks ago because Jason was having surgery on his ankle. Her was having screws removed from a previous surgery. I was enjoying listening to the conversations that take place between 3 year olds and Ella was enjoying telling her version of what Jason was having done. She told Cash that her Daddy was at the doctor because he was having his ankle removed! She went on to tell Cash that if he wanted to go to the doctor he could get his ankle removed. Cash proudly told Ella "no I can't Ella I don't have an ankle"!
